Technical Training on Fire Protection Systems According to NFPA Standards
Unlike most training programs in Türkiye, which are primarily based on national legislation, this program provides a detailed explanation of NFPA standards used in international projects and industrial facilities, including real-world project examples, field applications, calculation principles, and failure/maintenance scenarios. Upon completion of the program, participants will gain the competence to comprehensively manage the processes of reading, designing, inspecting, and operating projects in accordance with international standards.
The aim of the Technical Training on Fire Protection Systems According to NFPA Standards is to provide participants with comprehensive and holistic technical knowledge and practical skills regarding automatic sprinkler systems, fire cabinet and standpipe systems, fire pumps, and the inspection, testing, maintenance, and operation processes of these systems, in accordance with international standards (NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20, NFPA 25).
Module 1: Sprinkler System Design and Implementation (NFPA 13)
• NFPA standard system and basic approach
• Scope, purpose, and areas of application of NFPA 13
• Fire hazard classifications (Low, medium, and high hazard classes)
• Storage classes and storage types
• CMDA, CMSA and ESFR sprinkler systems
• Sprinkler types, areas of use, and placement criteria
• Barrier criteria and sprinkler protection rules
• Principles of underground and above-ground piping
• Suspension, support and seismic protection criteria
• Basic principles of hydraulic calculations and sprinkler design in storage areas
• Assembly principles, system acceptance tests, inspection, testing and maintenance practices.
• Field application examples and common design errors
Module 2: Fire Cabinet and Standpipe Systems (NFPA 14)
• Scope and purpose of the NFPA 14 standard
• Standpipe system types (Class I, Class II and Class III systems)
