Psychosocial Approaches in Cancer Introduction to Psycho-Oncology Training

Introduction to Psycho-Oncology certificate program is a training program designed to improve the skills of individuals to provide psychological support during health and disease processes. Since psycho-oncology is a field that focuses on the psychological difficulties experienced by cancer patients and their relatives, this program provides important information from both clinical and health psychology perspectives.

General Information

Cancer, defined as a chronic disease today, causes many psychosocial problems in individuals from the moment of diagnosis to the period when disease-free survival is achieved. These problems affect the patient and their family as well as the medical team responsible for the patient's treatment. Psycho-oncology, which is a sub-specialty of oncology and psychology, will be covered in the training as psychosocial effects on the patient and their family from the moment of diagnosis to the terminal period and coping methods.
